SPX Cooling Technologies, a full-line, full-service industry leader in the design and manufacture of evaporative cooling towers and other specialised heat exchangers, has appointed Chukri Alaani as the new sales manager for Iraq and the GCC (excluding Saudi Arabia and Kuwait).

A unit of US-based SPX Corporation, the company is a leading global manufacturer of cooling towers, evaporative fluid coolers, evaporative condensers and other specialised heat exchangers.

It mainly caters to providing full-service cooling solutions and support to customers in the process cooling, power generation, petrochemical, industrial, refrigeration, and heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) markets.

In his new assignment, Alaani will be responsible for directing the commercial network within his territory to achieve product line growth initiatives. In addition to managing a team of manufacturer’s reps, he works directly with engineering consultants and project owners, said a statement from the company.

Armed with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Ajman University of Science and Technology, Alaani has built over 10 years of business development experience within the engineering sectors, including at Trane and Johnson Controls, it added.

Welcoming him into the fold, Jeroen Bouten, the director sales for EMEA, said: "We are excited to bring Alaani on board."
