Oman's Suhar Industrial City investments hit $6.4bn

Oman's Public Establishment for Industrial Estates (Madayn) said the number of localised projects in Suhar Industrial City has risen to 350 by the end of this year, bringing in investments worth more than RO2.5 billion ($6.47 billion).
The workforce in Suhar Industrial City too has ballooned to more than 17,000, of which 35% are Omanis, said a senior official at a investment meeting held yesterday (December 25) in Suhar.
The meeting, which was attended by leading business owners and industrialists, was aimed at highlighting both the ongoing and future projects in Suhar Industrial City. It also discussed the events of the upcoming Oman Industry Week 2020.
Speaking at the event, Suhar Industrial City Director General Engineer Abdullah bin Salim Al Kaabi said the strong bond between the investors and Suhar Industrial City had contributed to the achievement of steady growth at all levels.
He pointed out that the industrial city aims to implement a number of development works at the facility including the infrastructure project in Phase 7.
According to him, this project will provide infrastructure services such as electricity, water, sewage service, rain drainage channels, in addition to safety and security requirements of the industrial city.
“We have already accomplished nearly 80% of the project and it is expected to be completed by end of next year,” added Al Kaabi.
Suhar Industrial City in cooperation with the Ministry of Transport has implemented the road between Phase 6 and 7, which would greatly facilitate the transport movement.
“We are in the process of completing the connection of this road to the expressway by mid of 2020,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
