RAS AL KHAIMAH, October 1, 2020
More than 94 per cent of the work has been completed on the 960-unit Bateen Al Samar Housing Project being developed under the UAE government's Sheikh Zayed Housing Programme (SZHP) in the northern emirate of Ras Al Khaimah.
Located after Exit No.122, on the emirate’s northwest border at Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Street, and from the northeast at Emirates Road, Bateen Al Samar Residential District is one of the programme’s leading projects, said a statement from SZHP. The project is being developed in two phases.
With work in full swing, nearly 888 out of the 960 homes are expected to be delivered by the end of 2020, said Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure and Chairman of the Housing Programme after inspecting the progress of the Bateen Al Samar Housing Project.
In Bateen Al Samar I, a total of 354 houses will come up over a 905,000-sq-m area, while the second phase of the SZHP project will have residential units in two areas - one with 277 homes on a 521,000-sq-m area and the second with 329 homes on a 780,000-sqm area.
The residential project is being completed despite the significant challenges resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, stated Al Mazrouei, while highlighting the programme’s full commitment to completing its projects on time, to ensure the housing stability of Emirati families and achieve community coherence.
The project is in line with the best sustainability and environmental protection standards, he added.
During his visit, Al Mazrouei was accompanied by Engineer Jameela Mohammed Al Fandi, Director-General of the Programme, and several leaders of the programme. The project’s engineers from the programme gave a presentation on the progress of the construction.-TradeArabia News Service
