Over 1,600 get homes in Bahrain under Mazaya programme
MANAMA, December 30, 2020
A total of 1,665 citizens have benefited from the Bahrain government's Mazaya housing programme this year, reported BNA, citing the country's housing minister.
Lauding the initiative, Bassem bin Yacob Al Hamer said: "The project is an embodiment of the partnership success between the public and private sectors by being able to meet thousands of housing requests within a short period of time."
The average value of the prices of units and apartments that citizens actually benefited from reached BD101,228 ($266,346), stated the minister.
"Mazaya confirms the success of the government's vision of engaging the private sector in providing social housing services to citizens, which allows them to choose their housing units in terms of location, area and unit components, through projects of real estate development companies approved by the Ministry," he stated.
Since its establishment, Mazaya has benefited a total of 6,485 citizens, he added.
