Etihad Esco seals Drydocks lighting systems upgradation deal

DUBAI, March 11, 2021

Etihad Energy Services, (Etihad Esco), a subsidiary by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa), has announced an agreement to upgrade lighting systems at Drydocks World facilities. 
 
This agreement represents collaboration and the strategic partnership between the two parties driving   sustainable and energy-efficient solutions in refrigeration, lighting and water sectors. 
 
Etihad Esco said the scope of work includes the application of modern, smart, indoor, and outdoor lighting solutions at Drydocks World facilities with 378 lighting units to be replaced at the smithery and pipes workshop, as well as at outdoor lighting areas. 
 
Drydocks World CEO Captain Rado Antolovic said through its strategic partnership with Etihad Esco, it was committed to improving energy efficiency at its facilities, using world-class, cutting-edge technologies.
 
As for targeted savings, the company expects that the project will save around 943,094 kWH annually, equalling to AED419,676 ($114,240) , the equivalent power consumption of 60 apartments per year a 55% of the total lighting power consumption in the targeted areas.
 
Etihad Esco said it aims to create an energy-efficient contracting market for energy service companies by auditing and proposing energy conservation standards for contractors and developers of buildings, by retrofitting of buildings and increasing energy efficiency, in addition to solar energy projects and the provisoion of smart supervision and control solutions through measurement and verification centers. 
 
The Dewa unit also plays its role in raising the awareness, guidance, and training of all community groups and workers in this field, including contractors, consultants, and service users.
 
Acting COO Faisal Al Raisi said: "Etihad ESCO is proud to provide a variety of energy services to Drydocks World facilities. The current project will add modern lighting solutions to the solutions package."
