Lamprell lands early works contract for major Saudi project

UAE-based Lamprell, a leading provider of engineering, procurement, construction and contracting services for energy sector, said it has been signed up by Bas Global Marine Services to provide early works services for a key project in Saudi Arabia under a limited notice to proceed (LNTP) contract.
Lamprell is proceeding with the LNTP secured from Saudi contractor BGMS in anticipation of the full award in Q2 2022, said the Emirati EPC contractor in its statement.
While work under LNTP is limited to early works, including the procurement of materials and mobilisation of the group's project management team, the full scope of work on this large contract (which is in $51 and $150 million range) relates to the delivery and construction of multiple jack-up lift barges to BGMS, it stated.
All project activities will be undertaken in its Sharjah Hamriyah facilities and work will start immediately, with project completion due for H2 2023, it added.
On the new contract win, CEO Christopher McDonald said: "Lamprell is very pleased to be working on this project in support of BGMS' contract with Saudi Aramco, a key customer for Lamprell for whom we are undertaking a number of other projects."
"We have a well-established and proven track record for constructing jack-up vessels for use in the offshore energy sector and we are confident of our ability to deliver this project safely and on time," he noted.
