New CEO named for Spark Utilities

RIYADH, December 13, 2022

King Salman Energy Park (Spark), a leading industrial ecosystem with sustainability at its core, has announced the appointment of Ahmed Al Essa as CEO of Spark Utilities, a wholly owned subsidiary of Spark and the kingdom’s third licensed power supplier.  
 
Al Essa will assume the role effective immediately and will support with realising Spark Utilities’ vision of becoming a world-class utility operator, while driving its growth and expansion. 
 
Al Essa brings over 20 years of experience from Saudi Aramco. Previously, he served as Chief Operating Officer at Saudi Aramco Power Company (Sapco) where he was responsible for overseeing the company’s commercialisation initiatives and expanding its portfolio and market share in the Saudi power market. 
 
Al Essa holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals, and a master’s degree in Sustainable Electrical Energy from the Georgia Institute of Technology.  -TradeArabia News Service
