Saudi-based Astra Industrial Group has announced that one of its portfolio companies, International Building Systems Factory (IBSF), has won the award for the 'Best Commercial Project' at Saudi Building & Infrastructure Summit 2022.
The company clinched this award for the Time Square 1 & 2 project coming up as part of the Riyadh Boulevard, a 220-acre perennial recreational and commercial complex within the Hittin neighbourhood of the Saudi capital.
Located in the north of the Saudi capital, the Riyadh City Boulevard has a wide range of recreational facilities, including outdoor cinemas, cafes, restaurants, and hookah lounges, besides hosting multiple sports, music and theatrical events.
Developed by SELA, the Boulevard is popular for its several landmark attractions like Square sub-zone, a replica of New York's Times Square, Takenda centre and the London's Coventry Street inspired Trocadero area.
It was designed by Saudi engineer Abdul Mohsen Al Theyab, Nmr Real Estate and Ahmed Zaidan Consulting Architects.
IBSF's team represented by its Deputy CEO Mohammad Abu Sarhan and AIG Group President Mohammed Al Hagbani received the award at the Saudi Building & Infrastructure Summit 2022.
The Saudi firm won the award for its work on the Time Square 1 & 2, including 12 buildings, which was completed on a fast-track basis within a 118-day period in 2021.
