Chinese builder wins $1.1bn Kuwaiti residential project

Kuwait's Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) has awarded contracts worth KD345 million ($1.1 billion) to Chinese construction and engineering company Gezhouba Group for the construction and maintenance of its South Saad Al Abdullah Housing Project, reported China Daily.
The project, which is located in Jahra Governorate, spans an area of approximately 6,400 hectares and consists of five residential areas with 24,508 houses, stated the report citing the authority.
PAHW picked up Gezhouba for the job after it emerged as the lowest bidder for the project among the 10 companies who had submitted their bids, it added.
