Saudi-based Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies has annnoucned that it has secured a long-term operations and maintenance (O&M) services contracts from National Water Company for the Package 6 of Riyadh City- Heet and Al-Hayer sewage treatment plants.

 

The long-term contract, which is worth SAR2.2 billion ($586 million), is for a 15-year period. 

 

The scope of work includes the design, rehabilitation, testing and commissioning as well as full operation and maintenance of the Package 6 of Riyadh City- Heet and Al-Hayer sewage treatment plants, said Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies in its filing to the Saudi bourse Tadawul.

 

The rehabilitation work will be completed in two phases with a total period of 36 months from the contract date. 

 

The handover of the existing four STPs - Heet 01 STP (HT1), Heet 02 STP (HT2) and Heet 03 STP (HT3) and Al-Hayer STP (AHR) - will also be part of the package, stated the company in its bourse filing. 

 

The O&M services will be implemented in conjunction with commencement of rehabilitation work. The total design treatment capacity of the plants is 870,000 cu m/day.
