Stunning new images reveal work under way at The Line
NEOM, Saudi Arabia, February 14, 2024
Work on the globally talked about The Line megacity, Oxagon port and Sindalah resort in Saudi Arabia's NEOM development is progressing well.
And if you need proof, The Line's Chief Operating Officer Giles Pendleton has shared some exciting images on LinkedIn, showcasing construction underway on the project.
Writing 'How to answer the naysayers about the incredible work being done in NEOM? Show a cross section of the world's largest building site from the mountains to the sea', he says massive excavations on The Line, the island resorts on Sindalah and the next generation of ports and logistics at Oxagon are taking place.
One of the images shows the excavations for The Line, a cognitive city stretching across 170 km, from the epic mountains of NEOM across inspirational desert valleys to the beautiful Red Sea. It is a mirrored architectural masterpiece towering 500 m above sea level, but a land-saving 200 m wide. The Line redefines the concept of urban development and what cities of the future will look like.
Earthworks on the project began in October 2021. The first phase of the project is scheduled to be completed in 2030.
Pendleton also shared aerial shots of hotels under construction at the Sindalah island resort and preparation works at Oxagon development.
