Benoy boosts EMEA architecture team with new appointments

DUBAI, April 9, 2024

British architecture firm Benoy has announced two major appointments - Neil Serridge and Toby Orsborn - in its EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) architecture team.

According to Benoy, Serridge has rejoined the firm as design director and will be leading on GCC projects. Having lived and worked in Dubai for 10 years, he originally worked for Benoy between 2014 and 2022, before taking on a new role at Woods Baggot.

He has been responsible for the design and delivery of some of the most exciting retail and mixed-use developments across the Mena region and has a wealth of experience in various sectors, predominately retail, urban design and masterplanning.

Benoy pointed out that the EMEA architecture team had been further strengthened with the promotion of Orsborn, who moves from commercial manager to design director, focusing on complex projects in both the UK and internationally.

No stranger to Benoy, he re-joined the company in 2022, having previously worked in the Newark studio between 2005 and 2009, said the company in a statement.

Both Serridge and Orsborn join a strong leadership team consisting of Peter Farmer, the lead on Benoy’s aviation offer; Sara Botey-Garcia, a leading expert in retail and hospitality; and James Dixon, an experienced architect spearheading UK projects, it stated.

Welcoming the appointments, CEO Tom Cartledge said: "It is an absolute pleasure to welcome Neil back. We like to keep an eye on our alumni, and at a time when our work in the Middle East continues to grow, it made sense to reconnect. Neil will be instrumental in furthering our client relationships in the region and brings a wealth of design expertise with him."

"Congratulations also to Toby, who re-joined us in 2022 after a stint at BDP and Feilden+Mawson, to work with the technical teams on commercial planning and now returns to his creative roots with promotion to design director," he stated.

"It is especially rewarding to welcome back familiar faces," remarked Cartledge.

"In February, Corina Leung re-joined us 13 years after working in our Shanghai studio and having expanded her experience in Australia, Macau, China, Indonesia and Vietnam, is now in our Hong Kong studio as a Senior Associate Director in Interior Design," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
