Alkhorayef secures $458m Al Ahsa sewage plant maintenance contract

Saudi-based Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies Company has announced the signing of long-term operation and maintenance (O&M) contracts with National Water Company (NWC) for sewage treatment plants as part of Package 7 Al Ahsa city.
As per the contract, Alkhorayef will be responsible for the design, rehabilitation works, testing and commissioning in addition to full operation and maintenance as well as handover of three existing sewage treatment plants - Al Hafuf STP 1, Al Oyun STP and Al Omran STP - and a new plant in Al Ahsa - Al Hafuf STP 2.
The rehabilitation work, which will be implemented in two phases, is set for completion in Q2 2026, said Alkhorayef in its filing to the Saudi bourse Tadawul.
A leading EPC and O&M contractor in water and wastewater sector, Alkhorayef Water and Power Technologies is one of the largest subsidiary companies of Alkhorayef Group which has been in business for over 60 years across 40 countries and 6 continents.
In addition to this, it will handle the O&M work for 15 years from contract date, in conjunction with commencement of rehabilitation work.
Also the total design treatment capacity of the plants, which now stands at 457,500 cu m/day capacity will get upgraded to 472,000 m3/day, it added.
On the financial impact, Alkhorayef said it will starts in the third quarter of 2024.-TradeArabia News Service
