Bahrain event to discuss smart buildings, IoT in construction

Leading developers, contractors, designers and architects will discuss the fundamentals of smart buildings as well as the evolution of modern building design and architecture at a special event being organised in Bahrain by NGN, a leading IT and IoT integration and managed cyber security firm. 
 
The IoT awareness Majlis, themed 'Smart Buildings: Navigating the Future' will be held tomorrow (May 29) at the NGN's headquarters in Bahrain World Trade Center, where the participants will explore a comprehensive array of topics. 
 
They will delve into the fundamentals of smart buildings, examine their primary components, the opportunities and challenges they present, and the cutting-edge technological trends shaping the industry for a more sustainable future. 
 
The roundtable discussion will also focus on the transformation of buildings in our current modern inter-connected era, said NGN in a statement.
 
Key discussions will focus on the integration of the Internet of Things (IoT) in construction, the application of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) for predictive maintenance and operational enhancement, and the utilization of blockchain technology to ensure data privacy and cybersecurity.
 
It will be moderated by Sharat Faqurudheen, Head of IoT Solutions at NGN International, and feature panelists  Dessy Philip, Associate Director - MEP at MSCEB; Azeem Mohammed, Director of Global Sales and Business Development at Fidelix and Mohamad AlZuhlof, Sales Manager at Interra.
 
On the IoT awareness Majlis, NGN Chief Executive Officer Yaqoob Al Awadhi said the event offers a platform for exchanging experiences, discussing the latest developments, and innovative solutions in the smart cities sector, while also highlighting successful local and international experiences.
 
"This event is part of NGN's social responsibility to raise awareness of emerging trends in various sectors, including smart cities, and to stay informed about the latest advanced technologies," stated Al Awadhi. 
 
"These efforts aim to promote sustainability and efficient resource utilization, thereby positively impacting the urban renaissance witnessed by the kingdom.
