JEDDAH, June 23, 2024
The Interiors & Furniture Show Jeddah, a brand new expo being hosted next year by dmg events, the experts behind Index Saudi Arabia, aims to tap into the $613 billion project market in the Western Province, when it opens its doors in February next year.
Over the last five years, the Kingdom’s Western regions of Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and Tabuk have carved an influential space for themselves on the country’s property map, launching projects in the commercial, hospitality and residential sectors.
These projects have created a massive knock-on effect in the interior design and furniture market with demand for fit-out products at an all-time high, said the event organisers.
More than 250 companies are expected to showcase their innovative products in front of over 5,000 visitors across more than 17,000 sqm of exhibition space, they added.
To be held from February 18 to 20 at the Jeddah Superdome, the show will explore the latest innovations in the industry.
Looking to address the demand, the Interiors & Furniture Show Jeddah will connect thousands of buyers from across the kingdom’s Western Province with local and global providers.
With an arsenal of premier events within the interior design and furniture sector, dmg’s Index leads the pack as the pre-eminent interior design, furniture and fit-out trade event that connects local and global brands with interior designers, retailers, distributors and fit-out contractors.
The event, being hosted by the experts behind Index Saudi Arabia, the Interiors & Furniture Show Jeddah, will be curated for audience by the same team from the region’s most successful interior design and furniture event.
Spanning more than 30 years in the region, Index’s legacy and success will look to complement the highly anticipated launch of the Interiors & Furniture Show Jeddah in the market.
"Leveraging our expertise and extensive experience in the interior design and furniture market - both locally and globally - and combined with the demand for quality products, we are ideally positioned to break new ground with the Interiors & Furniture Show Jeddah," remarked Jasmeet Bakshi, the Vice President of Design and Hospitality at dmg events.
As the leading international organiser of events in KSA, dmg events is set to launch the new fitout expo in 2025 as part of its expansion plans and to widen its portfolio across the interior design and furniture sector in the Kingdom.
"Our aim with the launch of the Interiors & Furniture Show Jeddah is to create and grow the perfect platform that will act as an interior design and furniture directory exclusive for Jeddah and the surrounding Western Province in the Kingdom," stated Bakshi.
The dmg events’ successful and impressive resume of expos across Saudi Arabia has made a significant contribution to the nation's global engagement, connecting over 300,000 policymakers, manufacturers, suppliers, and buyers and forging an indelible mark on the country’s events’ landscape, he added.
The expo will include 13 product sectors that encompass the full spectrum of the interior product market including, fit-out services, furniture and furnishings, hospitality interiors, kitchen and bathroom, bed and bedding, accessories and décor, art, technology, textiles, workspaces, flooring and surfaces, lighting, and outdoor furniture.
The show will also include exhibitors from across Italy, Greece, Turkey, Poland, India, Korea, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, and regional exhibitors; UAE and Saudi Arabia, who will have the opportunity to tap into the Western provinces’ biggest projects including NEOM, King Abdullah Economic City, Jeddah Economic City, The Red Sea Project, Jeddah Central, and Jeddah Metro.
Unpacking why Jeddah is the ideal location for next year’s show, Turki Al Sourayia, Director of Project and Export at Al Sourayia Trading Co. For Flooring & Furniture – and one of the exhibitors at next year’s show – said that Jeddah has transformed into a major tourist destination becoming a hub for the Western, Northern and Southern region in the Kingdom.
He added that they looked forward to the launch of next year’s show as it would attract industry professionals looking to capitalize on Jeddah’s growing market.
"The increased appetite for quality fit-out products from the hospitality, residential and commercial sector in Saudi Arabia represents a massive opportunity for us," said Sharad Bhushan, Vice President of Standard Carpets, a UAE-based carpet and carpet tile manufacturer and one of the exhibitors.
"We’ve been witnessing a wave of interest on the back of Saudi’s ambitious real estate plans and our next step is to tap into a world of potential in the Kingdom’s Western Province, which is why the launch of the Interiors & Furniture Show Jeddah comes at the ideal time," noted Bhushan.
For Abdullah Al Aqeel, the owner of Al Aqeel Furniture, one the most recognised Saudi-based furniture companies, the launch of the new event is momentous for Jeddah and the Western Province.
"We’re excited to be part of this inaugural event and play a role in the kingdom’s interior design narrative. The Western Province represents a new era for us all in the interior design and furniture market and with the roll out of some of the most impressive giga-projects, we’re ideally positioned to provide bespoke solutions to these potential buyers," noted Al Aqeel.
"Our decades’ long experience in the market makes us among the most adept and we can’t wait to showcase our offering at next year’s launch," he added.
The inaugural show will look to attract interior designers, specifiers, architects, fit-out contractors, hotel owners and operators, retailers and distributors making the show a must-attend event for those in the Western Province, said the organisers.
