EW205D fleet bolsters Yuksel Saudia's-Volvo 40-year partnership
RIYADH, September 16, 2024
Yuksel Saudia, one of the leading companies in the Saudi Arabian construction industry, is celebrating over 40 years of successful partnership with Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE), strengthened by an impressive EW205D fleet.
Yuksel Saudia has close to 2,000 equipment units. This includes a fleet of 45 wheeled excavators, 35 of which are Volvo as Yuksel continues to rely on the durability and performance of Volvo machinery to meet the demanding needs of its city centre infrastructure projects across Saudi Arabia, a statement said.
Yuksel Saudia’s journey with Volvo began over four decades ago, driven by the brand's reputation for durability and robust support. This enduring relationship has seen Yuksel expand its Volvo fleet significantly, including the delivery of 35 EW205D wheeled excavators, a highly efficient and durable machine in the 19.8–21.8 t weight category, between 2014 and 2024.
A 20 t wheeled excavator designed to drive efficiency and equipped with advanced technology, including Volvo’s unique ECO mode and a powerful Volvo engine, this digging and mobile tool-carrying machine works with ultimate efficiency both off and on-road.
The EW205D wheeled excavators have become a cornerstone of Yuksel’s operations, specifically chosen for their long engine life and suitability for urban infrastructure projects. The excavators are currently deployed for various tasks, including excavation, backfilling, and lifting, with 70% of them dedicated to infrastructure projects.
Built to perform
The EW205D excavator excels in road construction, utilities, landscaping, and other applications, with a robust steel undercarriage and rigid frame for superior durability and stability on rough terrain. Its strong structure absorbs impacts, reinforced welding enhances durability, and an oscillating front axle ensures superior ground contact. The axle lock function, dozer blade, and outriggers provide added stability and versatility for lifting, loading, and grading. The Volvo driveline offers smooth control, superior performance, and high productivity.
"Our experiences with the Volvo EW205D excavators have been very positive,” says Murat Bayindir, Yuksel Saudia’s equipment and logistics department manager. “Our long-standing relationship with Volvo exemplifies our commitment to excellence and the trust we place in Volvo's innovative and reliable equipment. Together, we are building the future of Saudi Arabia's urban landscapes.
“The EW205 excavator has delivered solid performance, with many of our operators highlighting the machine’s responsiveness, controllability, and fuel efficiency. We’ve been impressed so much to recommend it to other contractors in Saudi Arabia.”
Trusted technology
The reliability and consistency of the EW205D excavators have been assured by the service support from Famco, Volvo's local distributor in the Middle East, and through advanced Volvo technologies ActiveCare and CareTrack, which Yuksel utilises to manage machine uptime and efficiency.
ActiveCare combines machine monitoring and fleet utilisation reports, with machine data captured via CareTrack, Volvo CE’s telematics system. CareTrack provides comprehensive machine monitoring data, including fuel consumption, location, and usage reports. This information helps equipment owners reduce fuel costs, optimise performance, and manage maintenance proactively, enhancing uptime. It allows customers to stay connected with their machinery, boosting efficiency with remote monitoring.
“The easy incorporation of ActiveCare and CareTrack into our day-to-day operation provides that little bit more peace of mind,” says Murat. “Our machines and operators work long hours to tight deadlines, and so it is essential to keep downtime to a minimum. Volvo technologies have ensured that, as we continue to contribute in our own way to the development of Saudi Arabia.”
The Saudi Arabia infrastructure sector is expected to grow significantly across the decade, with market value estimated to reach $45 billion by 2029. Yuksel Saudia has built a reputation for delivering high-quality projects across Saudi Arabia, the statement said. -TradeArabia News Service
