Ritchie Bros. wraps up successful Dubai auction; 1,432 lots sold

Ritchie Bros. has announced the successful conclusion of its unreserved online auction held on September 24 and 25 in Dubai, UAE.
The auction saw a remarkable level of global participation, with a total of 1,000 bidders from 69 countries, according to a statement from the company. This figure included 490 bidders from the UAE and 510 international bidders, highlighting the extensive global reach and appeal of its auctions, it added.
The diverse participation underscores the platform's ability to attract interest from buyers across various regions, solidifying the company’s presence in the global market, Ritchie Bros stated.
The auction recorded a high volume of sales, with a total of 1,432 lots sold, drawing 384 buyers, of which 284 were from the UAE and 100 were international.
This significant number of buyers demonstrates the trust and reliability that participants place in Ritchie Bros. for acquiring quality industrial equipment, said a spokesman for the company.
The top bidding countries were led by the UAE, with 490 bidders participating in the auction. This was followed by the US with 122 bidders, Canada (90), Saudi Arabia (34), and the UK (21).
“These statistics reflect the widespread interest and competitive bidding environment fostered by our auctions,” the spokesman commented.
The auction generated substantial online interest with 1,318 registrations, and 33,169 items added to watchlists, demonstrating the robust digital engagement and demand for the auctioned items.
The equipment and trucks that achieved the top sales figures at the auction were:
Construction equipment:
•2018 Cat 988K LRC wheel loader – sold for $320,000;
•2018 Cat 745LRC articulated dump truck– $172,500;
•2018 Komatsu PC850-8R tracked excavator – $152,500;
•2018 Cat 160K motor grader – $121,000.
Lifting and material handling equipment:
•2011 Grove RT760E 60-ton 4x4x4 rough-terrain crane – sold for $64,000;
•2011 JCB 540-170 telehandler – $52,000;
•Tadano GR250N-1 25-ton 4x4x4 rough-terrain crane – $51,000;
•2008 JLG 1200SJP 4WD diesel telescopic boom lift – $40,000;
•Hyster H18.00XM-12EC 18-ton container handler – $35,000.
Transportation/automative equipment:
•2022 Mercedes-Benz Actros 4240 8x4 twin-steer mixer truck (unused) – sold for $104,000;
•2019 Nissan Armada 4x4 SUV – $38,000.
