DUBAI, April 17, 2019
This year’s edition of Gulf Education and Training Exhibition (Getex) Spring, the Middle East’s longest running student recruitment event, opened today (April 17) at the Dubai International Convention Centre.
Inaugurated by Dr Abdulla Al Karam, chairman and director general of Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), the event runs until April 19 under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Education and organized by the International Conferences and Exhibitions (IC&E).
Dr Al Karam said: “Dubai is an important education hub and the Getex platform showcases education offerings from different higher education providers – both regionally and internationally. Higher education in Dubai continues to grow and the event provides families and students with an opportunity to make the right choices.”
Learners across all age groups are expected to come to the three-day exhibition to interact with over 220 participating education providers. Students throng to Getex to meet with undergraduate and postgraduate admission personnel from about the world to make an informed decision and secure further study options available to them.
As an annual Education Fair, Getex serves to provide an effective platform for all education providers to fulfil their student admission targets and enrolment quotas for each forthcoming year
“Close to 28,000 local and international students attend the show each year Most of them are about to enter college and are actively looking for higher education, professional development, and training options. Universities from 20 countries will be represented at Getex this year,” said Anselm Godinho, managing director, IC&E, event organisers.
This year’s edition features general education; residential schools; undergraduate education; post-graduate education; occupational and industry education; professional development and continuing education program; training; and student counselling and career advisory.
The leading exhibition is also hosting for the first time this year a new platform called Getex Schools, which will feature schools from the K-12 segment.
“The Getex appeal has widened and as the job market gets more competitive, everybody recognizes the importance of Education. There are no short cuts,” Godinho concluded. – TradeArabia News Service
