Bahrain Medical Society calls for fines exemption
JUFFAIR, June 28, 2020
The Bahrain Medical Society has called for exempting doctors and medical and health cadres who were unable to renew their licences since February 2020 from any financial penalties or fines until this pandemic crisis is over.
The Chairman of Bahrain Medical Society Dr Ghada Al Qassim said: "The doctors in particular and the medical and health cadres in general shoulder enormous burdens to combat the corona pandemic. They stand in the front lines with courage and dedication to reduce the dangers of this virus to the citizen and resident of Bahrain, so it is necessary for all of us to appreciate their challenging circumstances, and to thank them according to our capabilities.”
“Also, some doctors are forced to stay at home isolation occasionally due to their exposure to infected people, besides, this pandemic’s special circumstance distracted our attention as doctors from our essential activities and ordinary life, and we became preoccupied with this virus day and night.” Dr Al Qassim added.
Dr Al Qassim concluded saying: "The Kingdom of Bahrain has offered a generous support package for citizens, including postponing loan repayments, exemptions from EWA bills and other. And we look forward for the approval to provide support to doctors and medical and health cadres similar to the government support on the one hand, and appreciating what the doctors are achieving at this particular time on the other hand." -- Tradearabia News Service
