Burjeel Hospitals focus on women, children with ‘Burjeel Farha’

VPS Healthcare has launched the ‘Burjeel Farha’ initiative, an integrated programme that will provide a full range of gynaecological and paediatric services under one umbrella.
Under the premium Burjeel brand it will offer comprehensive and specialised services to women and children of all ages.
The launch ceremony that was held recently at Burjeel Medical City, Muhammed bin Zayed City and Burjeel Day Surgery Centre, Al Reem Island, was attended by the representatives of the General Women’s Union, the Supreme Council for Motherhood & Childhood, the Family Development Foundation, Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, Abu Dhabi Police Directorate, the President of the Emirates Genetic Diseases Association, and the hospital’s medical and administrative staff.
John Sunil, Regional CEO of Burjeel Hospitals, said: “Burjeel Farha will extend a full range of world-class health services to women and children at all stages of life. Burjeel has long-standing experience and a thorough understanding of how to care for women and children. Maryam Al-Mandhari, Director of the Women’s Support Office at the General Women’s Union, said: “On behalf of Noura Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the General Women's Union, we welcome this valuable initiative. The Women’s Union is concerned with ensuring the quality of life for women by providing them with various services. Since its establishment, the General Women's Union works towards supporting all women-related issues including women’s health. We recognise the complementarity of the roles between the institutions concerned with women and children and the private sector. We also look forward to cooperating with Burjeel Medical City in this regard.”
Dr Khaled Elkondakly, Chief Operating Officer of Burjeel Medical City, said that Burjeel Farha has an exclusive all-women medical team to ensure the patients experience comfort and privacy. By providing the full spectrum of care for high-risk pregnancies and treating a range of conditions from uterine diseases to problems with the immune system, the programme makes integrated medical services available in one place.
Dr Elkondakly added: “The programme enables special follow-ups according to the healthcare requirements at each stage of pregnancy. It also covers gynaecological surgeries, urology in women, endocrine glands and hormonal imbalance, dermatology, cosmetology, and dentistry.”
Burjeel Farha is an initiative that supports the administration’s vision of providing the best services for women and children. Its fetal medicine team uses modern technologies to identify and treat congenital malformations inside the womb.
The paediatric team diagnoses and treats children for conditions including Paediatric Surgery services diabetes, problems with eyesight and so on. The programme also provides a service for vaccines and pre-school check-ups.
In a separate function, the exclusive women and child centre set up at Burjeel Day Surgery Centre, Al Reem Island, was inaugurated by Dr Fatima Al Dhaheri, Director of Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination, Anood Abdulla Thani Almansoori, Abu Dhabi Police Directorate, and Dr Eman Alzaabi, Member of UAE Parliament.
The centre at the medical facility has a unique sensory room that is designed to facilitate a therapeutic learning experience for children with special needs.-- TradeArabia News Service
