Averda, a leading international waste and recycling company, has been named the environmental partner to manage waste and cleaning services for two major events in the kingdom’s cultural calendar this month - The Red Sea Film Festival and the kingdom's debut Formula 1 STC Saudi Arabian Grand Prix 2021 - being held in Jeddah.
The Red Sea Film Festival takes place in Jeddah’s historic old town from December 6 to 15. Established in 2018, the show could not be held last year due to Covid.
This year's event will showcase more than 115 films from 65 countries, including 27 Saudi films of which 6 are feature films.
The other big event - Saudi Arabia's inaugural F1 - began yesterday (December 3) in Jeddah Corniche Circuit, marking the start of three days of excitement and fun with the penultimate race of this magnificent F1 season taking place on December 5.
The race will be held at night, with floodlights erected around the 6.175 circuit and there will be many
surprise events for visitors, including live concerts of top international stars like Justin Beiber.
Averda said for both the events its crew will work around the clock to ensure the locations are kept spotlessly clean and have set aside additional resources in readiness for any urgent issues.
For the film festival the company will be responsible for managing construction and demolition waste from the temporary installations ensuring all litter and waste generated by film-goers is promptly and responsibly removed, leaving the environment pristine, it added.
Chief Growth Officer Mazen Chebaklo said: "Averda is honoured to become the trusted partner to support these two major events in Jeddah and ensure the best possible experience and environment for the many national and international visitors."
