No epidemic outbreaks in Umrah season, says Saudi minister
RIYADH, April 24, 2022
Saudi Arabia's Minister of Health Engineer Fahd Al Jalajil has declared that there have been no epidemic outbreaks during the Ramadan Umrah season, thus confirming a reassuring health status for all pilgrims and visitors coming to Makkah this holy month.
Confirming that there had been no threats to public health so far, Al Jalajil said the Saudi health ministry officials were working hard to provide the best services to the pilgrims and offer them a safe and pious Umrah.
A total of 18,000 health workers were deployed during the first Ramadan season after the Covid-19 pandemic to serve the pilgrims, said the ministry.
Saudi Arabia continues to provide preventive, and emergency services to pilgrims through hospitals and primary health care centers in Makkah and health centers around the Grand Mosque, it added.
