Emirates Health Services in tie-up to enhance health standards

Emirates Health Services (EHS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) to collaborate towards realising the highest regional and global health standards.
The MoU is in line with EHS’ efforts to adopt quality and excellence standards as a key pillar of its operations, expanding its base of influential strategic partners and building advanced frameworks for collaboration towards achieving common objectives.
The agreement was signed as EHS took part in the European Foundation for Quality Management Middle East Forum, held in Dubai, marking the first time the event is held in the Middle East, with Dr Yousif Mohammed Al-Serkal, Director-General of EHS, in attendance, along with Paul Little, Chair of the European Foundation for Quality Management, and several department heads from both entities.
Set of common goals
As per the MoU, the two institutions will cooperate on a set of common goals, including building leadership capabilities in healthcare, in addition to developing, planning, and implementing the EHS Award for Distinguished Healthcare Provider, a local and international award to honour the outstanding performance of healthcare facilities and providers.
The two parties will also work together to remain up to date with the latest developments and best practices in the healthcare sector, channelling them towards developing the industry and provide pioneering healthcare services.
“The MoU is in line with our dedicated efforts to build and strengthen our strategic partnerships, and channel them towards establishing our position as a leader in the healthcare sector, providing outstanding health services, launching pioneering initiatives, and creating sustainable value our target customers, all while adhering to international best practices and boosting the UAE health sector’s regional and global competitiveness,” said Dr Al-Serkal.
Sustainable value
“EFQM, a well-established institution with extensive expertise spanning more than 30 years, has supported over 50,000 organisations around the world to achieve positive performance and create sustainable value for their stakeholders, driving notable change and promoting efficient management to build a better future for individuals, communities, and institutions,” he said.
The MoU calls for developing and implementing specialised training programmes to build capacities and skills in the areas of quality management, corporate excellence, and change management, targeting the leadership and supervisory staff at EHS.
Furthermore, leaders from across the health sector will be given the opportunity to join the new and programme, the first of its kind in the country.-- TradeArabia News Service
