Hong Kong-UAE JV to cut energy costs across 700 properties
ABU DHABI, September 28, 2023
Hong Kong’s green energy services company, Unity Group, has launched a joint venture with Abu Dhabi-based Lead International Investment, to optimise energy efficiency in 700 commercial and residential buildings in Abu Dhabi, a report said.
The companies said they will later scale operations throughout the Middle East and North Africa region. Unity’s customised solutions will reduce energy costs by up to $35,000 per month per building, according Mansfield Wong, chairman of Unity Group.
The partnership will also include procuring and leasing private-label solar equipment to cater to rising demand in the UAE.
“We have a vision, and we are here to complement our country’s vision – the 2030 Sustainable Energy [goal] and to reduce carbon emissions,” said Moustafa Rashad, CEO of the energy division of Ethmar International Holding (EIH), an Abu Dhabi-headquartered investment company of which Lead International Investment is a holding subsidiary.
