Abu Dhabi signs technology tie-up with Korea
ABU DHABI, February 10, 2015
The Abu Dhabi Technology Development Committee (TDC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning of Korea to promote cooperation in the fields of science and technology.
The Abu Dhabi TDC is coordinating the effort on behalf of a number of key Abu Dhabi Government institutions, namely the Department of Economic Development, the Abu Dhabi Systems and Information Centre, Mubadala and the Executive Affairs Authority.
As part of the MoU, TDC and the Korean body will work together to explore areas of synergy and promote cooperation between the two governments, research centres, education institutes, and enterprises of the two countries in the fields of science, technology and ICT.
Ahmed Saeed Al Calily, director general of TDC, said: “Science, technology and innovation have played a key role in the development of nations; Korea’s development is a prime example. Setting up partnerships with leading organisations such as the Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning of The Republic of Korea, helps in sharing best practices and would no doubt be beneficial as we continue to develop our capabilities and infrastructure for a knowledge-based economy.”
“The partnership seeks to develop ICT activities in the UAE, enhance knowledge skills transfer and promote a greater understanding and interest in the ICT sector. The MoU aims to benefit a variety of stakeholders; including companies, government entities, and educational institutions from both sides,” Al Calily added. – TradeArabia News Service
