Bahrain, China plan fisheries JV project

Bahrain and China will set up a joint aquaculture project to produce 36 to 50 tonnes of fish a year, a report said.
Under the deal, Bahrain will provide a plot of land covering 2,000 sq m, infrastructure facilities, water and electricity, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.
China will provide hi-tech equipment and qualified experts for the project which will be operational by 2017.
Fisheries director at the Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning Affairs Ministry Ibtisam Abdulla Khalaf said the project represents the fifth phase of the pisciculture agreement between Bahrain and China. – Reuters
