Saudi Customs officials highlight teamwork at annual meeting

Customs officials and ports managers from across Saudi Arabia recently attended the 19th Annual Leadership Meeting and revisited recent achievements and discussed future development plans.
The Governor of the General Customs Authority, Ahmed Alhakbani, inaugurated the two-day meeting.
During his opening remarks, Alhakbani highlighted the keenness of the board of directors, headed by the chairman and Minister of Finance, Mohammed Al-Jadaan, on holding such meetings to promote and enhance customs work.
He added that these meetings provide an opportunity for customs officials and ports managers to discuss the challenges facing customs and develop effective solutions to overcome them.
He also highlighted the importance of teamwork considering customs’ substantial responsibility and pivotal role in the economic and security sectors.
The official said that the meeting was meant to evaluate and discuss the achievements that marked the initial implementation stage of Saudi Customs’ strategy, explaining: “Through these initiatives and programmes, we are laying the groundwork for success, and moving forward towards our objective of becoming the first in region that provides remarkable customs services, while working to establish the kingdom as one of the world’s premier logistics hubs.”
On the first day of the meeting, leaders from different department namely: Trade Facilitation, Customs Security, Customs Revenue, legal affairs, Risk management affairs, and Information Technology presented interactive sessions and discussed various topics.
On the second day, the meeting started with an introductory session presented by the Human Resources department, followed by a session by the Corporate Communications and Marketing department, Engineering Department, Advisors Unit, and the Planning and Development department.
The meeting was finally concluded by the Governor, who thanked the leaders for making this meeting a success, and praised them for their valuable contributions. – TradeArabia News Service
