Prysmian to display latest innovations at German trade fair
BERLIN, June 3, 2019
Prysmian Group, a leader in the energy and telecom cable systems industry, will present its latest innovations for quality, future-proof networks at the Anga Com Trade Fair 2019, to be held in Germany.
The event will take place from June 4 to 6 in Cologne.
Prysmian Group will showcase its 6,912 fibre MassLink cable with FlexRibbon technology, which provides the highest fibre count within the industry and made its European debut in March at the FTTH Council Europe Conference in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
The 6,912 fibre FlexRibbon provides an ultra-compact outside plant cable design that contains 6,912 bend-insensitive fibres, with a cable diameter small enough to fit into a 50.8mm duct.
In Prysmian’s FlexRibbon cable family, ribbons are rolled up and packed together in small diameter sub-units, still providing the advantages of mass fusion splicing, while significantly reducing the outside diameter of the cable.
Originally designed for use by hyper-scale data-centre customers, FlexRibbon has potential uses in all telecom markets. Whatever the fibre count in a single cable, this product design provides installers and splicers with craft friendliness and superior fibre management.
At its booth, the group will also showcase its range of advanced products to meet the evolving needs of its customers, including its full offer for optical connectivity solutions providing flexibility in design, simple modularity for upgrading and superior quality performance for all cable management needs.
Moreover, Prysmian will showcase the Karona Overblow System enabling the installation of high density optical fibre cables into pre-existing sub-ducted routes, which contain existing legacy cables, as well as its portfolio of multi-conductor FTTA hybrid cables for mobile applications. Live cable jointing demonstrations will also be available throughout the day.
Toni Bosch, vice president - telecom solutions at Prysmian Group, said: “We are a global company with a strong presence in Europe and Germany, offering a longstanding experience in the manufacturing of optical fibre and cable solutions for a broad range of applications.”
“With seven research and development centres, our group is the largest cable manufacturer in Germany and across the whole Europe. The high level of local technical expertise available allows us to respond quickly to new requirements and to offer our customers tailor-made solutions of truly high quality, providing important impetus for tomorrow's telecommunications networks and power grids,” Bosch added. – TradeArabia News Service
