Jafza to offer long-term visas to customers

In its efforts to support the goals of the UAE Government, Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), a key engine of economic diversification and leading source of foreign investment, is offering facilities to obtain long term visas for its customers to attract and retain high caliber talent within the UAE.
In accordance with Resolution No. 56 of 2018, passed by the UAE Cabinet and issued as a decree by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, this initiative applies to a range of investors, entrepreneurs, researchers, and other specialists and innovators, said Jafza in a statement.
The goal is to promote Dubai as a destination for highly skilled individuals in a wide variety of fields, it stated.
Strategically located at the crossroads of a region providing market access to over 3.5 billion people, Jafza is one of the world’s leading free trade zones and is home to over 7,500 multinational companies.
It accounts for 23.9 per cent of total FDI (Foreign Direct Investment) flow into the country, sustaining the employment of more than 135,000 people in the UAE. In 2017, Jafza generated trade worth $83.03 billion.
Under the new resolution, investors, entrepreneurs and specialised talents are now eligible for a five or ten-year visas that offer the possibility for automatic renewal depending on specific profiles and criteria.
Through this process, the government aims to make Dubai an attractive destination to entrepreneurs and in-demand specialisations to drive forward the country’s culture of innovation.
In line with government requirements and regulations, Jafza will assist new and existing customers, facilitating the process for any individuals that meet strict qualifications.
Also, the free zone will work closely with the Federal Authority for Identity & Citizenship (ICA) and any other relevant government entities to maintain the integrity of the process while ensuring rapid turnaround times.
