Adnec to promote key defence shows at Russia forum
ABU DHABI, June 24, 2019
A delegation from Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company (Adnec) will take part in the International Military-Technical Forum ‘Army-2019’, to be held in Russia, as part of its outreach to attract more international exhibitors to its defence shows.
The event is one of the most comprehensive defence exhibitions in the world, drawing the participation of 20 defence ministers from across the globe. It will take place from June 25 to 30 in Moscow.
Anticipated to attract 1,200 major defence manufacturers and exhibitors from 14 countries around the world, the exhibition will showcase the latest land, sea and air defence systems, as well as unmanned technologies and robotic systems, said a statement.
Adnec’s participation in the event is in line with the company’s strategy to promote Abu Dhabi’s status as the global capital of business tourism, it said.
Adnec will highlight the key advantages of its specialised defence portfolio comprising the upcoming editions of the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (Idex 2021), Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition (Navdex 2021), Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (Umex 2020), and Simulation Exhibition and Conference (SimTex 2020). These events have already received an overwhelming response from leading international defence exhibitors and specialised defence companies.
Saeed Al Mansouri, executive director of Idex, said: “Our participation in the forum is part of a well thought out marketing plan that aims to elevate the status and recognition of Adnec’s defence events on the international map. In line with this goal, we are attending several carefully selected events towards strengthening ties with our international partners and attracting more companies and exhibitors to our venues.”
“Attending these exhibitions is an excellent opportunity to explore global best practices in organising specialised defence exhibitions, directly interact with major international exhibition organisers, and discuss with them the latest industry developments,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Higher Organising Committee of the Unmanned Systems Exhibition and Conference (Umex 2020) and Simulation Exhibition and Conference (SimTex 2020) is continuing its preparations for the dual event, which will be co-organised by Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Company and the General Headquarters of the UAE Armed Forces from February 23 to 25, 2020, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The 2019 edition of Idex and Navdex drew the participation of 124,000 visitors, 1,310 specialised companies from 62 countries, and 33 national pavilions. It facilitated defence deals valued at Dh20 billion ($5.44 billion) and attracted 1,213 media representatives from 42 countries.
Adnec plays a crucial role in promoting Abu Dhabi’s business tourism sector, a major contributor to the emirate’s non-oil GDP growth. In hosting a diversified portfolio of events, Adnec delivered an impact worth Dh3.41 billion ($928.35 million) on the Abu Dhabi economy in 2018, taking the total value of its contribution to the local economy since its inception in 2005 to Dh32 billion ($8.71 billion). – TradeArabia News Service
