Sulzer to highlight innovative tech at German expo
WINTERTHUR, Switzerland, September 24, 2019
Sulzer will show its innovations in sustainable manufacturing and recycling of plastic with its wide range of technologies at the upcoming K 19 2019, a major fair for the plastics and rubber industry running from October 16-23 at Düsseldorf, Germany.
These not only make polymer production more efficient, but also back the development of green plastic materials as well as give a new life to materials that are currently non-recyclable.
The K 2019 fair will focus on how to make plastic processing and production more sustainable and efficient. Sulzer, the leader in separation and mixing technology, will present its state-of-the-art products and solutions to help businesses make this crucial transition.
Of particular interest to visitors will be the PLAnet partnership, an alliance offering a strong and integrated full value chain for the production of polylactic acid (PLA). In the last few years, PLA has been acknowledged by the industry as the next bio-based building block of the polymer industry, due to its versatile chemical and mechanical properties and its comparably low costs.
Together with its partners, Sulzer offers the full scope of engineering and key equipment for the construction of fully integrated PLA plants.
Another key technology on display will be the company’s advanced devolatilization (DEVO) technology. This is used in an ever-increasing number of applications to perform the last separation step in solvent-based recycling processes. The static devo equipment comprises Sulzer’s proprietary distributor to achieve amazingly low levels of impurities in the recycled polymers, such as polypropylene, polystyrene and PET.
Also on stand will be the company’s foam extrusion lines for the production of high-quality polymer foams with a wide range of shapes and densities. New in the product portfolio is the XPET foam line for the manufacturing of materials suitable for various applications, such as food trays, furniture and light-weight wind generators blades.
Visitors of the stand will be invited to have a virtual reality (VR) tour around real-world chemical processing plants that use Sulzer’s products without leaving the fair. – TradeArabia News Service
