Manama, Bahrain, March 8, 2021
Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) President Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery, today (March 8) extended his greetings and best wishes to women in Bahrain and around the world on the occasion of International Women’s Day.
“The occasion of International Women's Day reminds us of the importance of the role of our women; it is that day that was approved by the United Nations Organization many years ago to improve women’s working conditions and grant them the rights they deserve, which has developed into an occasion to celebrate the achievements of women around the world,” Dr Jawahery said in a statement.
He said the Kingdom of Bahrain has always been a pioneer in establishing and celebrating women's rights, granting them all their social and political rights, and spreading awareness about the importance of achieving the principles and frameworks of equality and justice in the rights and duties between men and women in order to achieve parity.
Praising the role of The Supreme Council for Women in the Kingdom of Bahrain, he said that the Council has applied significant efforts under the leadership of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, the wife of our beloved King. “Her Royal Highness, may God protect her, has worked to establish mechanisms and develop policies that support the empowerment of Bahraini women and ensure their sustainability,” he stated.
“Her Royal Highness has actively participated in the comprehensive development process, and succeeded in leading the Council to establish a clear vision for the advancement of women. This vision has supported women to advance at all levels worldwide in all scientific, cultural, political, sports and other fields,” Dr Jawahery added.
“God willing, the progress of Bahraini women will continue in parallel with the rest of the world’s women, and this event will remain an annual opportunity to assess and study the extent of the progress made by the global community to support the participation of women and cement their role in different societies,” he added.
“Our sincere wishes go to every woman in the world to achieve more progress and success, and we congratulate them on this auspicious occasion,” he said.—TradeArabia News Service
