GFI continues to raise the bar in food safety best practices

SHARJAH, May 27, 2021

Global Food Industries (GFI), a UAE-based value-added food manufacturing firm, has received globally-recognised food safety certifications – one for the frozen division and another for the snacking division.

With its unrelenting effort towards quality excellence, GFI’s separate manufacturing facilities for the frozen and snacking divisions underwent strict food safety inspections and successfully passed stringent food safety audits conducted by AIB International.

“GFI has continuously embarked on a journey towards quality excellence,” Parvin Banu, Head of Quality at GFI said. “As part of its commitment, GFI invested in facility improvement projects to further raise its quality standards to world class. And, even though it is not a
customer or regulatory requirement but as part of our relentless efforts toward quality excellence, GFI engaged with AIB certification for both its manufacturing factories.

“This provides that added peace of mind and assurance to all our customers and consumers that by meeting the AIB standards, we continuously raise the bar higher and higher when it comes to the quality of our products and facilities,” Banu added.

“The AIB International certification also serves to complement our BRC 8 certification with A grade, which we had previously received. This is proof that food safety is indeed of the topmost priority at GFI.”

GFI operates from its state-of-the-art food manufacturing facilities in Sharjah, UAE managed by a dynamic team of seasoned industry experts. All of its facilities are certified according to the best global industry practices and standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Halal, HACCP and BRC.
Globally recognised for setting standards for food safety, AIB International performs inspections to ensure that food manufacturing facilities uphold strict food safety and quality requirements. AIB started in the United States 60 years ago and has since conducted inspections and audits in over 10,000 facilities in 120 countries.

All AIB food safety inspections are done according to the AIB International Consolidated Standards, which include foundational elements from Codex, ISO, FDA, global regulatory agencies and a compilation of industry best practice, accumulated and refined over the years.-- TradeArabia News Service
