Top-performing suppliers, recognised as benchmarks for excellence across 12 categories, from events and marketing to catering and health and safety, were honoured by Expo 2020 Dubai.

 

Recognising their outstanding contribution in helping deliver a world-class mega-event, awards were presented to the Nominated firms, which were evaluated on criteria such as reliability, quality, innovativeness, business relations and value-add. 

 

Anis Tabka, Senior Vice President, Procurement & Contracts, Expo 2020 Dubai, said: “As one of the most ambitious construction programmes in the Middle East, with vast event-time requirements, Expo 2020 Dubai involved complex, strategic sourcing on a global scale. We are grateful to each and every one of our suppliers whose first-rate performance helped us welcome 24.1 million visits to the largest global gathering since the pandemic. 

 

Outstanding efforts

“The 12 winners stood out for their outstanding efforts, agility and contribution, and are taking home more than a trophy, but also the credibility and recognition for which they worked so hard.”

 

More than two thirds of all suppliers were small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), seen as crucial drivers of economic growth. Some 64 per cent of these were domestic SMEs, reflecting the calibre and diversity of UAE-based enterprises and supporting the UAE’s wider drive towards a thriving private sector and more resilient economy.  

 

The prestigious ceremony also served to inform suppliers about legacy and future procurement opportunities in Expo 2020 Dubai’s next chapter: Expo City Dubai – a vibrant, human-centric smart city driven by sustainability, innovation, education and entertainment.-- TradeArabia News Service
