Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports surge 4.4pc in October

Saudi Arabia’s non-oil exports have witnessed a 13.9% growth in October over last year with the value surging to hit SR120.7 billion ($32.2 billion) compared to the last year's figures of SR106 billion ($28.2 billion), according to the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT).
This increase originated mainly from oil exports, which rose by SR13.7 billion (or 16.6%) in the same period. The share of oil exports in total exports increased from 77.5% in October last year to 79.4%, stated GASTAT in its recently released International Trade Report for October 2022.
GASTAT is the only official statistical reference for statistical data and information in Saudi Arabia. It executes all the statistical work, in addition to the technical oversight of the statistical sector.
Non-oil exports (including re-exports) registered a 4.4% growth, compared to October 2022, increasing to SR24.9 billion from SR23.9 billion last year.
Merchandise imports increased by 39.3% to hit SR18 billion, according to GASTAT.
The value of imports amounted to SR63.9 billion in October compared to SR45.9 billion in October 2021. Imports also increased compared to September 2022 by SR2.8 billion or 4.5%, it added.
