EDGE Group, one of the world's top 25 advanced technology groups for defence and beyond, said it has acquired a 70% stake in Abu Dhabi-based Gradeone, a specialist in manufacturing of non-lethal pyrotechnics, ammunition, defence-related components and packing solutions.

 

Announcing the strategic move, EDGE Group said the mutually beneficial acquisition was in line with its ongoing expansion plans in the defence sector and the new entity will join its Trading & Mission Support cluster. 

 

The announcement comes ahead of the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) to be held at the Abu Dhabi Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from February 20 to 24.

 

As one of the world’s leading advanced technology and defence groups, EDGE has seized the opportunity to further expand its defence manufacturing, communications, and trading capabilities by incorporating Gradeone into the group.

 

On the acquisition, EDGE Managing Director and CEO Mansour AlMulla said: "We are rapidly growing, and with it our focus on the development of defence trading.
