Saudi Arabia convenes Future Minerals Forum
RIYADH, January 9, 2024
Saudi Arabia is hosting the Future Minerals Forum (FMF), a platform designed to enable the creation of resilient mineral value chains in the vast resource rich region of Africa, Western and Central Asia, from today (January 9) in Riyadh.
It is being held at a time when global demand for minerals and metals is expected to grow exponentially in the coming years and decades to meet the needs of modern society and enable the energy transition, a statement said. The event will run till January 11.
Saudi Arabia has the vision, the mineral endowment, a large market, regional relationships, and the right geography to become a hub for the mineral value chain, it added.
Featuring more than 40 high-profile and strategic conference sessions, the forum has scheduled the Ministerial Roundtable on January 9, and the conference and exhibition on January 10 and 11.
FMF will see the participation of more than 26,000 people (13,000 in-person and 13,000 virtual), from across 145 countries. This includes the participation of more than 21 international development organisations, 300 CEOs from leading organisations (minerals and metal value chain), over 250 international and regional speakers, and 100 sponsors and exhibitors, 60 government minister and country delegations. – TradeArabia News Service
