Douglas OHI lands Abu Dhabi desal plant civil works contract

Douglas OHI, a leading regional construction and engineering group, said its consortium with Spanish group GS Inima has secured a major civil works contract at the Shuweihat 4 Reverse Osmosis Seawater Desalination Plant in Abu Dhabi.
A major regional player with operations in Oman, UAE and Saudi Arabia, Douglas OHI spearheads numerous major initiatives across oil and gas facilities, industrial plants, infrastructure projects and in the hospitality and tourism sectors.
Douglas OHI said this is its second collaboration with GS Inima after it had work jointly on the Barka Desalination plant in Muscat.
On completion, Shuweihat 4 SWRO plant will supply up to 70 million imperial gallons per day (MIGD) of drinking water, thus enhancing the security of water supply in Abu Dhabi’s Al Dhafra region, said Douglas OHI, the civil contractor for the project.
