Johnson Controls in deal to revolutionise smart building solutions in Kuwait

LONDON, July 6, 2024

KNETCO, a leader in transforming businesses visions into digital reality in Kuwait, and Johnson Controls, a global leader in smart, healthy and sustainable buildings, have announced a strategic partnership agreement that is aimed at bringing about revolutionary changes in the smart building sector in Kuwait.

The partnership aims to leverage Johnson Controls’ OpenBlue solutions, the blueprint of the future for smart buildings, transforming buildings from static entities into smart, strategic assets.

OpenBlue is a comprehensive system of connected technologies that integrate data from multiple sources to provide a unified view of building operational technology status.

This platform not only tracks and analyzes operations but also offers actionable recommendations and executes commands automatically to ensure optimal building performance.

The agreement was signed at a key ceremony held at the Courtyard Marriott Hotel in Kuwait City, which was attended by senior company officials.

The partnership marks a significant milestone in the collaboration between these two leading companies.

"This collaboration underscores our commitment to delivering advanced digital and technological solutions. Through our partnership with Johnson Controls, we are poised to transform the smart building industry in Kuwait," remarked KNETCO Chairperson Riham Al Ghanim.

"Our focus on developing smart infrastructure and integrating cutting-edge technologies will lead to significant progress, benefiting our clients and the community as a whole," she stated.

A part of the Fouad Alghanim & Sons Group of Companies, KNETCO has a strong regional presence with operations in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt.

This strategic partnership will enhance KNETCO’s ability to deliver innovative solutions across these markets, further solidifying its leadership position in the region, she added.

KNETCO is the first company in the region to enter into this agreement with Johnson Controls to distribute and export smart building and city technology services to the region, meeting urban development needs and transitioning to a sustainable green economy that protects the climate and environment.

The new services will accelerate this transition in Kuwait, offering smart solutions to manage and optimize energy usage in buildings and cities.

Al Ghanim said the Kuwaiti group remained committed to providing the latest digital and technological solutions, focusing on developing smart infrastructure and smart communication services across all sectors of the state.

This will help the company to strengthen its business relationships with key partners and establish new strategic partnerships in both the government and private sectors.

CEO Khaled Samy said: "Together, we will develop and implement smart infrastructure solutions that enhance operational efficiency, sustainability, and the comprehensive user experience."

"This partnership is a significant step toward realizing our vision of transforming traditional buildings into smart, efficient, and sustainable environments that revolutionise building and city management through smart infrastructure solutions and IoT technologies, enhancing smart control to save and optimize energy," he added.

Mohammad Khalid, Vice President and General Manager for the Mena at Johnson Controls, said: "Our collaboration with KNETCO empowers us to deliver the award-winning OpenBlue platform to the Middle East."

"Through data-driven insights and advanced technological solutions, we’re transforming the region’s built environment by creating smarter, healthier, and more sustainable buildings. This partnership represents another significant step toward a greener future," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
