Bahrain Airport Company (BAC), the managing body and operator of Bahrain International Airport (BIA), has announced plans to explore potential partnerships with leading logistics providers - Parcel Courier Services and Asia Cargo - for warehouse space within the Express Cargo Village Phase 2 development.
These prospective partnerships represent a significant opportunity to further boost Bahrain's burgeoning logistics sector and reinforce BAC's commitment to attracting foreign investment, potentially increasing the total number of foreign investors in the Express Cargo Village, said BAC in its statement.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of Bahrain International Airshow in the presence of Parcel Courier Services CEO and Co-founder Ali Dhaif, Asia Cargo General Manager Hasan Moamen and BAC Chief Executive Officer Mohamed Yousif AlBinfalah.
On the deal, AlBinfalah said: "We are excited to explore these potential partnerships with Parcel Courier Services and Asia Cargo. We believe these potential collaborations could contribute significantly to the growth of the logistics sector, create new job opportunities, and further solidify Bahrain's position as a regional logistics hub."
This milestone, he stated, marks a new chapter in BAC’s journey to excellence in the logistics and freight forwarding sector.
According to him, BAC remains dedicated to developing strategic partnerships that drive economic diversification and strengthen Bahrain's position as a leading logistics gateway in the Middle East.
Moamen said since Asia Cargo's establishment in 1985, it has continuously evolved to meet the dynamic needs of the logistics industry, leveraging nearly four decades of expertise to provide seamless and innovative solutions.
Ali Dhaif said the new warehouse at Bahrain International Airport will improve its operational efficiency and strengthen the role as a key player in Bahrain's growing logistics sector.
"This initiative aligns with our vision of supporting Bahrain's strategic objective of becoming a prominent logistics hub in the region and boosting overall cargo tonnage. We are devoted to building long-term partnerships, driving innovation, and providing exceptional value to our clients," he noted.
"Parcel Courier Services is excited to partner with BAC at the Express Cargo Village Phase 2 development, marking a significant step toward enhancing our logistical capabilities and supporting Bahrain’s vision as a regional logistics hub," he added.-TradeArabia News Service
