bp Oman and Sharakah empower 12 Omani SMEs

In partnership with bp Oman, Sharakah recently presented the 12 beneficiaries of the sixth edition of the Khazzan Project for SME Development, an initiative aimed at strengthening Oman’s small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 
 
Each selected SME embarked on a one-year developmental journey, concluding with a culminating grant of OMR70,000 ($181,823) distributed among 10 SMEs to support critical improvements in their business operations, market expansion and innovation.
 
This year’s group represents a diverse range of sectors, each contributing to Oman’s economic and social landscape in unique ways. The selection includes 4Elements, a company focused on providing sustainable water treatment solutions to meet the Middle East’s water needs. Huwaid’s Cheesecake, a popular cafe in Oman, offers premium cakes, desserts, and beverages, adding a creative touch to the local food scene.
 
Jalaan Rehabilitation Centre
In healthcare, the Jalaan Rehabilitation Centre is recognised as a leading that provides rehabilitation services for children with autism spectrum disorder in the following programs (special education - occupational therapy - speech therapy - psychological counselling and behaviour modification). 
 
Melyar celebrates the rich tradition of Omani fragrances with its range of luxury scents, while Meshan which is a café combines tradition with modern packaging, offering gourmet dates in unique flavours that make thoughtful gifts.
 
In experiences, Nabaha is an event management company known for its dedication to organising seamless and memorable occasions across Oman. Meanwhile, Palmera Botanical Garden in Saad, Baushar, showcases native and exotic plants, making it a vital educational hub for biodiversity. In the food and beverage sector, Rakwa has established itself as a premium Arabic coffee brand, using traditional roasting methods to preserve authentic coffee flavours.
 
The programme also supported Sakan, a creative studio specialising in innovative interior and architectural design using state-of-the-art visualisation software. Suwgra, a heritage inn in Jabal Akhdar, offers visitors an authentic experience of Omani culture and natural beauty. Tawasul, a training institute, empowers people with disabilities by promoting inclusive job opportunities, and Youth Sada continues to foster youth skills and community involvement, supporting Oman Vision 2040.
 
120 SMEs
This programme has supported over 120 SMEs across sectors such as hospitality, retail, finance, manufacturing, agriculture, and education, contributing to their resilience and long-term sustainability since its inception.
