Japanese crane company Tadano has announced that its longtime customer Arabian Machinery & Heavy Equipment Company (AMHEC) has signed a contract for 100 GR-800EX units, thus marking one of the largest orders by volume and, therefore, one of the most significant crane orders in its 105-year history.

 

The addition of 100 new GR-800EX models will allow AMHEC to deploy new cranes that can handle their customers’ extensive rigging operations and movements - especially at drilling rigs - across Saudi Arabia. 

 

Based in Khobar, AMHEC has been serving as a major provider of crane rentals, heavy lifting, transportation, and rig move services across the kingdom. Their crane fleet exceeds 400, a notable percentage of which are Tadano models.

 

The magnitude of this order brought leaders of Tadano and AMHEC together along with Saleh Abdulaziz Abahsain Company, Saudi Arabia’s distributor of Tadano Japan products for over 40 years. 

 

Tadano CEO Toshiaki Ujiie, AMHEC CEO Abdullah Faisal Al Suwaiket and Saleh Hamad Al Mogbil, Managing Director of Saleh & Abdulaziz Abahsain Co, met at the Shido Plant in Kagawa, Japan - where most of Tadano’s rough terrain cranes are produced - for the handover ceremony.

 

Ujiie welcomed Al Suwaiket with a golden key commemorating the 100-unit order for the GR-800EX cranes.
