UAE-based Transworld Group's Chairman Ramesh S Ramakrishnan has received India's prestigious Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award (PBSA). 

 

The award, conferred by the President of India, is the highest honour for overseas Indians. It recognises exemplary contributions by members of the Indian diaspora in their respective fields and their efforts in strengthening ties between India and the global community. 

 

Ramakrishnan, who lives with his family in the UAE, received the award at a celebratory event during the 18th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention held in Bhubaneswar, Odisha between January 8 and 10. 

 

Ramakrishnan was recognised for his exceptional leadership over four decades and his contribution to the global shipping and logistics solutions industry.

 

“I am deeply humbled to receive this award,” he said. “It is a tribute to the shared efforts of my family, the Transworld team, and all those who have supported our journey. Ramakrishnan took over the helm of Transworld Group from his late father (and founder) R Sivaswamy, in 1989. In the decades since, Ramakrishnan has exponentially grown and globally expanded the reach of the integrated shipping and logistics conglomerate.
