Ajman, Huawei in key IT infrastructure upgrade deal

Ajman Municipality has launched a strategic project 'Sanad' in cooperation with leading telecommunications and information technology group Huawei.
The move is aimed at building and updating technical infrastructure services in the emirate by applying the latest and advanced technology that ensures information and networks security, agility, and easily converting to cloud computing technology and internet of things, reported state news agency Wam.
Abdulrahman Mohamed Abdullah Al Nuaimi, the director-general of the Municipality and Planning Department, inaugurated the project.
Sanad is being carried out in cooperation with Huawei, as the municipality and Planning Department seeks to utilise the latest global technologies to facilitate provision of outstanding and specifically designed user experiences for client satisfaction, taking into account the speed of transition of modern technology platforms.
Youssef Mohamed Abdullah Al Shaibah, the director of smart services development administration, said that the Sanad project was specifically designed to be the foundation to build a new generation of interactive services to support the department's approach in applying the best practices in the area of the Internet of Things and cloud computing.
It will help in increasing information security and sustainability of services, as well as providing maximum production capacity and programming capacity by which the department will respond to the clients’ needs and will work on reducing operating costs by over 40 per cent, and reducing the consumption of the space allocated to services by 70 per cent, he stated.
In addition, the system will facilitate submitting enhanced applications and will increase the speed of providing services to the department’s network, becoming the core of future projects, he added.
