iGA CE wins Silver Medal from Kuwait’s Crown Prince

Bahrain’s Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, has won an award for participating as a jury member in the 21st edition of the Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award, held in 2021.
On behalf of the Amir of Kuwait, HH Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti Crown Prince, HH Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah has chosen Alqaed for the award.
During a special ceremony held on the sidelines of the awarding ceremony event, Al Qaed received a Silver medal from Board of Trustees Chairperson, Sheikha Aida Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah, in recognition of his participation as jury in the awards for the sixth time. The ceremony was attended by several Arab countries’ ambassadors.
Digital progress
Al Qaed expressed his appreciation for being selected as a member of the jury panel, which included current and former heads of authorities and ministers in the field of information technology. He thanked the award’s Board of Trustees for their efforts and he praised the organisers for promoting the latest in the world of technology and innovation, advancing informatics, and contributing to Arab countries’ digital progress.
He added that the award has grown into a major opportunity for informatics, enabling Arab countries to explore technologies and innovations presented by each year’s participants in an environment conducive to competitiveness, excellence, and creativity, and aimed at creating an advanced digital society.
Al Qaed praised the winning projects, congratulating Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah for ‘Nusuk’, a milestone service app in the region which streamlines pilgrims’ journeys through digital solutions. The app has helped improve the quality of services and enriched religious and cultural trips, in line with the objectives of the Pilgrim Experience Programme, part of Saudi Vision 2030.
An exhibition was held on the sidelines of the ceremony, which showcased the award’s achievements, as well as details, photos, and statistics of winners from 2007 to date.-- TradeArabia News Service
