MANAMA, April 9, 2024

The Bahrain Technology Companies Society (BTECH) is set to organise the International Business Hub at the second edition of GITEX Africa, slated to unfold from May 29 to 31 in Marrakech, Morocco.

This global exhibition serves as a platform for technology firms to showcase their products and solution to an international audience, fostering idea exchange and highlighting market trends within the tech sector while keeping abreast of the latest innovations. Notably, the event introduces three new sectors—digital health, smart manufacturing, and agri-tech—aimed at propelling technological advancements across the African continent.

The International Business Hub serves as a premier meeting point and entrepreneurial community, hosting dynamic events that encourage dialogue and creativity. It brings together entrepreneurs, experts from leading technology institutions, and fosters entrepreneurial opportunities for SMEs looking to thrive in the technology industry and embrace digital transformation.

Prime opportunities
This hub presents prime opportunities for exhibitors to engage, drive sales and investments, foster bilateral trade, and forge connections with a global audience. With over 50,000 visitors from 80 countries, interactions with 900+ large companies and startups, and engagement with more than 275 leading investors from over 34 countries, participants can anticipate fruitful partnerships and ample networking prospects.

Tareq Fakhroo, Chairman of BTECH, commented: "The swift and remarkable growth of Africa’s tech sector has transformed the continent into a burgeoning hub for information and communication technology investments. This potential has spurred us to organise the International Business Hub and empower companies to explore business opportunities in the African market and engage in fruitful collaborations. Africa has emerged as a promising investment market in the field of information and communication technology.”

Fakhroo added: "The significance of the exhibition is amplified by Africa’s emergence as a pivotal player in the global tech market, coupled with its unique demographic composition. Home to 17.8% of the global population and a youthful demographic that constitutes 65% of its own populace, Africa presents unparalleled opportunities for ICT sector. Africa’s potential is driving an unprecedented surge in digital transformation and its adoption across the continent."

Vast array
Fakhroo pointed out that GITEX Africa stands as the largest technology and startup exhibition on the continent. He emphasised that Africa presents a vast array of economic opportunities across various sectors.

Digitisation is rapidly advancing throughout the continent, driving a surge in demand for investment in information technology and applications. Analysts project that the African technology market could soar to nearly $715 billion by 2050.--TradeArabia News Service
