Bahrain, Saudi Arabia sign sports cooperation agreement

The General Sports Authority (GSA) of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Sports of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have signed a MoU in Paris, aimed at enhancing collaboration in the sports sector.
The MoU is aimed at strengthening bilateral sports cooperation, focusing on the promotion of community, Paralympic, women’s, and combat sports, along with the organisation of events, development of sports professionals, and collaboration on sports investment, facility management, and long-term training programmes, reported BNA.
The agreement was signed by Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), and Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Faisal, Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee.
Shaikh Khalid said the MoU marks a strategic advancement in the sports relations between the two kingdoms, reflecting the shared commitment to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise in various sports disciplines.
The signing ceremony was aso attended by Prince Fahad bin Jalawi, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee; Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice Chairman of the GSA; Essam Abdulaziz Al Jassim, Bahraini Ambassador to France; Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, CEO of the GSA; and Adwa Abdulrahman Al Arifi, Assistant Minister for Sports Affair of Saudi Arabia.
