Dubai to host debut forum on children’s rights
DUBAI, October 8, 2014
Dubai is set to host the inaugural Global Child Forum, an international independent platform for research, dialogue, information and action which was initiated by King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden.
It will be held on November 13 at the Madinat Jumeirah, under the patronage of Queen Silvia and Pricess Haya Bint Al Hussein, chairperson of Dubai Healthcare City Authority, chairperson of International Humanitarian City and wife of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The high-level forum will bring together over 400 regional and international decision-makers from business, finance, state, academia and civil society to discuss improvements of children’s rights as part of the global sustainability agenda, said a statement.
The aim of the event is to broaden the network of stakeholders working for children´s rights and also to support cross-sector partnerships and knowledge sharing in the region, it said.
