Shams hosts workshop on digital trends in Ramadan
SHARJAH, April 22, 2018
Sharjah Media City (Shams), a free zone hub for innovation, hosted a workshop on ‘Marketing Trends in Ramadan’, conducted by a Google Representative, to introduce the businesses registered with Shams to marketing strategies during Ramadan.
The workshop was held at the Sharjah Gold and Shooting Club and attracted a number of business owners who are looking to better market their business during Ramadan.
Conducted by Andrea Silva, head of Channel Sales at Google Mena and Mukesh Pandey, digital marketer and trainer, the sessions covered several topics on digital marketing, such as the impact of Ramadan on consumer habits, how to create engaging content and delivering mobile-first marketing campaigns.
“The holy month sees a shift in online consumer behaviour within the region. Businesses will have a significant opportunity to engage with potential new customers. Web searches using the keywords ‘promotions’, ‘offers’ and ‘discounts’ double in volume during Ramadan,” said Google representative Andrea Silva.
This workshop is one of a series planned by Shams to bring together start-ups working under its umbrella.
Dr Khalid Al Midfaa, chairman of Shams, said: “Sharjah Media City (Shams) is proud to collaborate with industry leaders like Google who are at the forefront of digital excellence. We are committed to helping Shams-registered companies develop the essential digital skills required to support innovation and business growth.” – TradeArabia News Service
