Saudi Customs foils 4 drug smuggling bids

Saudi Customs at King Abdulaziz International Airport (KAIA) in Jeddah recently blocked four attempts to smuggle a total of more than 26,000 pills of tramadol and amphetamine into the country.
Bandar Al-Rahili, general manager of KAIA Customs, said:“First, 1000 tramadol pills were caught hidden inside food items wrapped in aluminium foil and placed among a passenger’s luggage, another 1989 pills (of the same drug) were found hidden in two parcels labelled Red Pepper.”
He added that Customs officers also confiscated 22,900 pills of amphetamine hidden in food containers and another 665 pills found inside the handbag of an arriving passenger. – TradeArabia News Service
